pretty sure they make some 4 palettes for limited edition stuff
and they also have pro palettes which you build custom but those come with either 4 or 15 slots.
if this is from ebay or something try reading other customer reviews and checking the seller's ratings.I want to know if MAC makes a 12 palette eyeshadow...?
It is definitely a fake. MAC only makes pre-made quads, trios, and occasionally, 5 or 6 shadow palettes, and they are only for certain collections (ie: Dame Edna had trios, Rose Romance had a quad, Colour Forms and the Trip palettes are 5 shadows, the holiday palettes as well as Eyes on Manish were 6). The 12-shadow palettes are a very common fake, so avoid them like the plague.
MAC, however, does do a 15-pan palette, but it's an empty palette than you buy the eyeshadow pans of your choice to pop in there. They also do quads that are like that, and a 6-slot thingy for blushes. They used to do an 8-pan palette, back when there were larger shadows, but that is discontinued.
MAC makes a Pro Palette in a 4 count ($3.50) or 15 count $12.00). The palette comes empty and you have to purchase the colors you want to fill the palette up with. Each shadow is about $11.00 a pop. Generally at Christmas they will put out a pre-filled lip and eye palette that comes with the colors already inside. Get it early because they usually don't last.
I always thought you buy the palette container where you put your MAC eye shadows that you already own inside.The Palette Container holds 15 eye shadows.
An empty one. If its off ebay. I highly recommend not because most likely the colors are just dupes but wont go on like authentic ones.
